State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has responded to rumours of a cabinet reshuffle by President Prabowo Subianto in early August. Prasetyo left open the possibility that Prabowo would inaugurate new officials to fill vacant seats.

“Reshuffle? For the time being, there isn’t one. Even if, I apologise, even if there were, perhaps it would be to fill the vacancies in several positions left behind by previous officials due to the changes,” Prasetyo told reporters on the Nusantara Explorer train in Central Java on Thursday (30/7/2026).

It is known that two deputy minister seats are currently vacant. The first is the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, following Sudaryono’s appointment as Head of the National Nutrition Agency. The second is the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections, which became vacant after Prabowo dismissed Silmy Karim, who has been named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission.

“Yes, for example, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture. The Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections, that is also vacant,” Prasetyo stated.

However, Prasetyo stressed that there are no immediate plans for Prabowo to replace existing cabinet officials. “But indeed, frankly, we have not, the President has also not yet discussed any plans for a replacement or reshuffle in the near future,” he said.
