State Secretary: Online Motorcycle Taxi Presidential Regulation to Be Issued End of August or Early September at the Latest
The Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on online transport, or ojol, will soon be issued. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi is targeting the regulation to be issued by the end of August or early September at the latest.
“We are targeting that by the end of this month, or at the latest early next month, we can issue the presidential regulation governing online transport services,” Pras told reporters at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (18/8/2026).
Pras said the drafting of the ojol regulation has reached a common understanding after several meetings were held. Pras expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for their coordination in accelerating its completion.
“Alhamdulillah, we have reached a common understanding regarding the drafting of the presidential regulation that will govern ojol transport,” he said.
“We would like to thank Mr Dasco and Mr Cucun, who have tirelessly and relentlessly coordinated with us to accelerate this in accordance with the orders and guidance of the President,” he continued.
Once finalised, the government will carry out harmonisation with relevant parties, including app operators. The State Secretariat will directly lead the harmonisation process.
“We, as the State Secretariat, will directly lead the harmonisation process as conveyed by Mr Dasco,” he said.
