The State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, has confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto has no plans to replace the current Finance Minister, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. Prasetyo provided this assurance to journalists at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026), in response to rumours suggesting that senior University of Indonesia economist Chatib Basri might be appointed to the position.

“There is no such thing; there are no plans to replace the Finance Minister. We have stated many times that there is no plan for a reshuffle,” said Prasetyo.

He also requested that the public refrain from linking specific individuals to particular ministerial positions. “Because, in truth, there is no plan for a replacement at this time. If the President feels that a refreshment or change is necessary—not just for one ministry, but across the board—it will be announced to the public when the time comes,” Prasetyo added.
