Jakarta (ANTARA) - State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi stated that the government is targeting the groundbreaking of several strategic national projects, including waste-to-energy and industrial downstreaming, to begin in April 2026.

“Insya Allah in April this year, for example, the waste-to-energy programme which was originally at 33 regency/city points, but due to field adjustments it is likely to become 29 points, Insya Allah in April all can undergo groundbreaking,” said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

In addition to waste processing into energy, the government is also targeting the start of construction for 21 downstreaming projects in the same month.

Prasetyo explained that the government is currently focused on implementing various national priority programmes, as outlined in development planning documents, from the Long-Term Development Plan (RPJP), the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) to the annual government work plan.

“We are focused on working to implement the programmes that have all been outlined in the RPJP, RPJMN as well as the annual government work plan with all the dynamics that occur,” said Prasetyo.

He added that the current global geopolitical dynamics and international situation are influencing the implementation of the national development programme.

However, according to him, the government continues to ensure its commitment to maintaining the continuity of the development agenda.

“We are all committed to managing it as best as possible, working as best as possible for the nation and the state,” he said.
