State Secretary Denies Fuel Price Increase on 1 April 2026, Pertamax Price Remains Normal

The government has confirmed that reports of a fuel price increase on 1 April 2026 are untrue. According to State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, there will be no rise in the prices of petroleum fuels (BBM), whether subsidised or non-subsidised.

He stated this in response to the widespread misinformation claiming a drastic increase in non-subsidised fuel prices, such as Pertamax.

Prasetyo Hadi explained that the government’s decision was based on directives from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to prioritise the interests of the people.

“Pertamina will not make any price adjustments for either subsidised or non-subsidised BBM,” Prasetyo said in an official statement on Tuesday (31/3).

He urged the public to remain calm. The government guarantees the availability of BBM for the public at affordable prices.

“We hope the public does not need to panic or worry because we guarantee the availability of BBM. We guarantee it and there will be no price adjustments,” he stressed.

The government hopes this clarification will provide accurate information to the public and help dispel concerns over the fuel price increase rumours that had been circulating.
