State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has said the government has not yet implemented adjustments to the target recipients of the Free Nutritious Meal programme, including the discourse surrounding decile groups 7–10. Speaking at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Monday, Prasetyo stated that the government is still carrying out improvements at the National Nutrition Agency following the change in the agency’s leadership. “Not yet. After the leadership change process at BGN, we conveyed that we are requesting time to carry out an improvement process of approximately one month,” he said. According to him, the results of an inventory of various issues regarding the implementation of the programme have been reported to President Prabowo Subianto. The government is now further sharpening the improvement measures and reviewing a number of options for the programme’s execution. Prasetyo noted that the implementation mechanism in frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped regions requires a different approach because the number of beneficiaries is relatively small and scattered across various locations. He emphasised that discussions regarding the adjustment of recipient targets, including the discourse on the programme for decile groups 7–10, are still in the study phase and have not been decided as policy.
