State Secretariat to Revoke Contracts for Idle State Asset Managers

The Ministry of State Secretariat will revoke cooperation contracts for state asset managers that have remained inactive or idle, as part of an effort to optimise asset utilisation.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the ministry is currently reviewing all cooperation agreements, including those under the management of the Gelora Bung Karno Complex (PPK GBK) and Kemayoran Complex (PPK Kemayoran).

“We are reviewing these cooperation contracts one by one to subsequently renegotiate them to optimise the utilisation and returns from these state assets,” Prasetyo said during a working meeting with the House of Representatives’ Commission XIII in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that from the review, the ministry has clustered the contracts into those that can be renegotiated and those that cannot. Contracts that cannot be renegotiated are those where management rights have been granted but have not been utilised.

“The ones that cannot be renegotiated are the types where we have granted management rights, but until today, no activity has been carried out. We have decided, and we seek the support of the leadership and members of Commission XIII, that for this type of cluster, we will revoke the contracts,” he stated.

According to Prasetyo, this step is necessary because state assets must be managed productively. “We consider that management rights have been granted but are not being executed properly. These are state assets that must be productive. After years of no activity, we request permission to revoke contracts in that cluster,” he said.
