State Secretariat Respects Nanik Sudaryati's Resignation as BGN Head

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated the government fully respects Nanik Sudaryati Deyang’s decision to resign from her position as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The decision was made by Nanik to focus on recovering her health.

Prasetyo emphasised that the government cannot impose choices on Nanik, including the option of taking medical leave. According to him, only the individual concerned best understands their current personal health condition.

“Why must she resign or why not just take leave? We leave this to the individual concerned. We also cannot force it because she is the one who understands her personal condition,” Prasetyo said, as reported by Antara on Wednesday (22/7).

The government appreciates Nanik’s magnanimity in choosing to resign to ensure the agency’s performance is not disrupted. The official resignation letter has been submitted to President Prabowo Subianto and has been processed administratively, rather than being merely a statement on social media.

Furthermore, Prasetyo explained that President Prabowo accepted the resignation considering the BGN manages a national strategic programme, including the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG), whose work cannot be delayed or experience a leadership vacuum.

“In the shortest possible time, the President accepted her resignation and will immediately decide on her replacement to be inaugurated today, so that there is no vacuum in BGN’s duties,” he clarified.

On behalf of the government, the State Secretary also expressed gratitude for Nanik’s dedication during her tenure. Although her leadership period was relatively short, Nanik was considered to have made various breakthroughs and significant improvements within the National Nutrition Agency.
