Bengkulu (ANTARA) - The Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) is monitoring the implementation of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 12 of 2025 concerning the handling of specific circumstances for the normalisation of the Pulau Baai Port shipping channel, transport and logistics, as well as the acceleration of development on the outer island of Enggano. “This activity is part of the task of monitoring the implementation of Presidential Instruction Number 12 of 2025,” said Susilo Yanuardi, Expert Policy Analyst for Cabinet Support at the Deputy for Food, Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Ministry of State Secretariat, in Bengkulu on Thursday. The monitoring was carried out directly to obtain a comprehensive picture of the implementation of the Presidential Instruction by listening directly to stakeholders, both from government elements and state-owned enterprises (BUMN). The visit is part of the Ministry of State Secretariat’s duties to monitor the implementation of Inpres Number 12 of 2025 at Pulau Baai Port. During the monitoring held on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, the team gathered information on the achievements of Inpres Number 12 of 2025 along with various follow-up actions that have been carried out by stakeholders, including PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) and Pelindo Regional 2 Bengkulu. The monitoring focused on the progress of dredging and normalisation of the shipping channel, the readiness of port facilities and infrastructure, the smooth distribution of logistics and basic necessities for the community, and the effectiveness of inter-agency coordination in implementing the Inpres. This activity is part of the evaluation of the president’s policy to ensure the implementation of Inpres Number 12 of 2025 runs according to target, while strengthening transportation access, Pulau Baai Port connectivity, and accelerating development on Enggano Island. The monitoring results will subsequently be used as evaluation material and reported to the President of the Republic of Indonesia as a basis for taking further steps, including accelerating the completion of specific handling targets and the sustainable development of Pulau Baai Port. As the operational manager of Pulau Baai Port, Pelindo Regional 2 Bengkulu provided an overview of the current condition of the shipping channel, berthing facilities, and the port’s operational readiness after normalisation so that ship services can return to normal. The current channel depth has reached 6.5 metres LWS and will be increased to 12 metres LWS through a project that is currently entering the tender process in accordance with President Prabowo’s instruction.
