Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has explained that the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah from the position of Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office does not require a Presidential Decree (Keppres). He stated that the resignation is a personal matter from the individual declaring their withdrawal from the position.

“Regarding the question of the Presidential Decree for the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah from the position of Jampidsus, a resignation does not use a Keppres because it is a personal matter from the person concerned who declares their withdrawal from the position they hold,” Prasetyo explained in a brief statement on Monday (13/7/2026).

He noted that a Presidential Decree is only required for the appointment of a new official to the post. The mechanism involves a proposal from the Attorney General to the President, who then appoints and formalises the position through the decree. “The mechanism is that the position is appointed and established by the President through a Keppres based on a proposal from the Attorney General, which we have not yet received,” he added.

Previously, the Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, confirmed that Febrie Adriansyah had submitted his resignation letter. He emphasised that the move was a commitment to maintaining integrity, objectivity, and neutrality in law enforcement, and assured that operations within the special crimes unit would continue without disruption.
