State Saves Rp31.3 Trillion from Mafia, Prabowo: Could Build 34,000 Schools

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto witnessed the handover of Rp11,420,104,815,858 from the work of the Forest Area Regulation Task Force (Satgas PKH). The government has successfully saved state finances through the reclamation of forest areas in phase VI. Prabowo stated that the total funds obtained from seizures by the mafia, resulting from the efforts of Satgas PKH and the Attorney General’s Office during his administration over 18 months, amount to Rp31.3 trillion. “Thus, the total cash we have successfully saved to date is Rp31.3 trillion. This is a very large figure. If we imagine, with this money we could repair 34,000 of our schools throughout Indonesia,” said Prabowo at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Friday, 10 April 2026. Not only that, the government will also renovate schools. These funds could be used to provide assistance to two million low-income Indonesians, up to repairing 500,000 residents’ homes. “Imagine, if we hadn’t saved it. If Satgas PKH hadn’t worked well, this money would be lost, this money could not be utilised by the citizens, by our people,” he said. On that occasion, Prabowo reminded his subordinates to work well for the nation and state. Prabowo invited all parties to close sources of state wealth leakage. “I invite you, let us close practices that are not good, we close deceiving the people, deceiving superiors, backing bad practices like smuggling, illegal mining, illegal plantations,” he stated. Nevertheless, Prabowo acknowledged that the salaries received by state apparatus are not large. However, Prabowo asked all his subordinates to see that there are still Indonesians living in hardship. “We understand, I understand that your salaries may not be sufficient. But, if we look at our people who are worse off than us, we must understand that working in government is devotion, working in government is devotion, working for the government in government is devotion. How many times must I emphasise, working in government is sacrifice and devotion,” Prabowo remarked.
