State Revenue Grows 21.4 Percent to Rp 1,459.4 Trillion in First Half of 2026

State revenue reached Rp 1,459.4 trillion in the first semester of 2026, representing 46.3 percent of the 2026 state budget (APBN) target of Rp 3,153.6 trillion, according to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. “This represents a 21.4 percent year-on-year (yoy) growth compared to the same period in 2025,” Purbaya said during a working meeting with the House of Representatives’ Budget Committee in Jakarta on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. He explained that the increase was supported by a rise in economic activity, improved tax and customs governance, and enhanced services from ministries, agencies, and public service bodies. Tax revenue was recorded at Rp 1,187.8 trillion, or 44.1 percent of the Rp 2,693.7 trillion target. This comprised tax receipts of Rp 1,035.7 trillion, or 43.9 percent of the Rp 2,357.7 trillion target, and customs and excise revenue of Rp 152 trillion, or 45.2 percent of the Rp 336 trillion target. “Tax and customs reforms have yielded promising results,” Purbaya noted. Non-tax state revenue (PNBP) reached Rp 271 trillion, or 59 percent of the Rp 459.2 trillion target. Meanwhile, state expenditure was realised at Rp 1,656 trillion, or 43.1 percent of the Rp 3,842.7 trillion target, growing 17.8 percent year-on-year. Central government spending amounted to Rp 1,298.6 trillion, or 41.2 percent of the Rp 3,149.7 trillion target. Ministerial and institutional spending reached Rp 658.9 trillion, or 43.6 percent of the target, while non-ministerial spending was Rp 639.7 trillion, or 39 percent of the target. Transfers to regions totalled Rp 357.4 trillion, or 51.6 percent of the Rp 693 trillion target. “This reflects our efforts to ensure more evenly distributed state spending throughout the year, aimed at boosting the economy and supporting development agendas and national priority programmes,” Purbaya said. The budget performance resulted in a deficit of Rp 196.5 trillion, or 0.76 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), while the primary balance recorded a surplus of Rp 85.1 trillion. “This condition reflects that the APBN deficit is maintained within safe and manageable limits,” he concluded.
