State Palace Targets Completion of New Jampidsus Presidential Decree This Week
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has announced that the Presidential Decree regarding the appointment of a new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) is targeted for completion this week. This move follows the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah, who is entangled in a legal case.
Prasetyo revealed that Attorney General ST Burhanuddin officially sent a letter proposing names for the echelon I official to President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday, 14 July 2026. One of the names widely mentioned in the list of candidates is Kuntadi.
‘As of yesterday, Tuesday the 14th (July), the Attorney General has officially sent a letter to the President proposing a name to replace the Jampidsus official,’ Prasetyo stated at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/7/2026).
While confirming that Kuntadi is among the candidates, Prasetyo emphasised that the final decision still awaits the process at the Final Assessment Team (TPA). This mechanism must be followed to ensure the suitability of the official who will fill the strategic position within the Adhyaksa Corps.
The State Palace is giving special attention to filling this position by accelerating the administrative process. Prasetyo expressed hope that the entire TPA process can be completed within days so that the inauguration can be carried out promptly.
‘God willing, this is one of the processes we need to accelerate compared to others. God willing, the Presidential Decree will be signed this week,’ he added.
Beyond the Jampidsus position, the proposal letter from the Attorney General also includes filling other vacant strategic posts, including the position of Deputy Attorney General. However, the Minister of State Secretary was reluctant to detail the other candidates before an official decision is made by the TPA session.
This replacement has drawn public attention after Febrie Adriansyah resigned due to his involvement in alleged corruption and money laundering cases. The presence of a new Jampidsus is expected to restore integrity and performance in handling corruption cases within the Attorney General’s Office.
