State Palace on Nanik's Plan to Become BGN Supervisory Board: A Request from the President

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has clarified the statement by Nanik Sudaryati Deyang regarding her potential appointment as Chair of the Supervisory Board within the organisational structure of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). Prasetyo stated that the opportunity for Nanik to be appointed as Chair of the BGN Supervisory Board is increasingly open because it is a direct request from President Prabowo Subianto. “Because her experience is deemed still capable of assisting the BGN,” he said at the DPR, MPR, and DPD Complex on Thursday, 23 July 2026. Regarding the absence of a Chair of the Supervisory Board position in the BGN’s organisational structure, he continued, this should not be disputed. According to Prasetyo, the terms Steering Committee and Supervisory Board within the BGN’s organisational structure can have similar meanings, particularly concerning the duties to be carried out later. “Steering or Supervisory, what matters is the function later,” said the Gerindra Party politician. Referring to the organisational provisions of the BGN as regulated by Presidential Regulation Number 83 of 2024, the leadership structure of the BGN only consists of a Steering Committee, Head, and Deputy Head. There is no Supervisory Board. Another regulation, Presidential Regulation Number 115 of 2025 concerning Governance of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme Implementation signed by Prabowo in November 2025, also does not regulate changes to the BGN’s organisational structure. The plan to establish a BGN Supervisory Board was conveyed by Nanik Sudaryati Deyang alongside the announcement of her resignation as Head of the BGN. In the post, Nanik claimed that Prabowo had asked her to assume the position of Chair of the BGN Supervisory Board. According to Nanik, this position can still be carried out while undergoing medical treatment. “The important thing is not dealing with holding money, I swear I have acute trauma,” said Nanik on her Facebook social media account on Wednesday, 22 July 2026. Nanik resigned as Head of the BGN citing a desire to focus on heart treatment.
