State Palace Discusses Efforts to Restore Public Trust, Calls for Stability
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi responded to the various student demonstrations that have taken place in recent days. Pras stated that the government is striving to provide confidence to economic actors, which will subsequently lead to increased public trust.
“Regarding the question of how we provide trust to the public, we need to convey that besides Mr Rosan reporting on the results of his working visit, the President also re-emphasised several points which, in our opinion, are part of our efforts to provide confidence to economic actors, which will ultimately provide confidence to the public,” Pras said at the Presidential Office in the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Monday (15/6/2026).
Pras was answering a journalist’s question about how to restore public trust given the many recent protests at a time when the government says investment in Indonesia is increasing.
Elaborating on his statement, Pras said Prabowo has repeatedly conveyed the need for deregulation to simplify licensing, so that the investment climate can develop and the economic ecosystem can grow much more competitively.
“Secondly, the President also stressed, particularly to Mr Rosan as CEO of Danantara and also as a member of the Downstreaming and Industrialisation Task Force, that when we talk about strengthening the currency, we cannot separate it from our export and import performance,” Pras stated.
In relation to export performance, Pras emphasised industrialisation and downstreaming to reduce our dependence on imported goods. It is hoped that the resulting products can provide added value.
For this economic climate, Pras assessed the importance of stability. He called on all parties to work hard and together restore the economy.
“The last point, which was no less important in the discussion with the President, is that whatever happens, the business climate requires stability. Therefore, we as the government invite everyone, all members of the public, all market players, all economic actors, to join hands, work together, and work hard to restore, recover, and strengthen our economy,” he added.
