State-Owned Telecommunications Company Strengthens Village Empowerment Through Baktiku Negeriku 2026 Programme
TELKOMSEL is once again conducting its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Baktiku Negeriku 2026, as an effort to strengthen village development and encourage inclusive digital transformation. The programme was held from 21–23 May 2026 in Balegede Village, Naringgul District, Cianjur Regency, West Java, focusing on community empowerment through human resource capacity building, digital literacy, and local economic development.
Vice President of the Consumer Business Area for Jabodetabek and West Java at Telkomsel, Tuty Rahma Afriza, stated that this programme is part of the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable social impact through the use of digital technology. “Baktiku Negerui is a tangible manifestation of Telkomsel’s commitment to providing sustainable social impact through digital technology. We believe that community empowerment is more effective when conducted collaboratively, including involving employees as agents of change who can directly share knowledge and experience,” Tuty said on Wednesday (3/6).
According to her, the programme aligns with the national development agenda, specifically the sixth point of Asta Cita, which emphasises development from villages to drive economic equality and poverty alleviation.
IMPLEMENTATION OF EVP
In its execution, Telkomsel is strengthening the implementation of the Employee Volunteering Programme (EVP). Through this programme, employees serve not only as volunteers but also as mentors, facilitators, and links to access knowledge and technology for village communities. Telkomsel employees are directly involved in various activities, including digital literacy education, mentoring micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and utilising technology to support the agricultural and tourism sectors.
“Furthermore, this programme also prioritises the empowerment of village youth as local champions, prepared to lead change initiatives in their regions. They are actively involved from planning to the management of programmes based on local potential to create a sustainable and relevant impact,” said Tuty.
KEY ACTIVITIES
She explained that Baktiku Negeriku 2026 includes several key activities, including the implementation of an Integrated Farming Demonstration Plot, the development of Creative Tourism based on a circular economy, the construction of the Telkomsel Creative Digital Centre as a hub for digital literacy, and various educational activities involving the local community. According to Tuty, these initiatives are expected to improve the digital skills of the community, open business development opportunities, and encourage the use of technology to support daily productivity.
“Through this series of initiatives, Telkomsel brings direct benefits to village communities, ranging from improved digital skills and business development opportunities to the use of technology to support daily productivity, so that the community can be more independent and ready to face future economic challenges,” she said.
STRENGTHENING CITIZEN COLLABORATION
In addition to providing direct benefits to the community, this programme strengthens collaboration between residents, village governments, and Telkomsel in building a sustainable empowerment ecosystem. Telkomsel considers this approach essential so that the programme’s impact is not merely short-term but capable of providing lasting benefits according to the needs of the local community.
The Baktiku Negeriku programme is a continuation of similar activities that have been implemented in various regions and are considered to have had a positive impact on increasing digital literacy, strengthening the community economy, and social participation of residents. Following the implementation in Balegede Village, Telkomset will continue the Baktiku Negeriku 2026 programme in Bayu Village, Songgon District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, on 11–13 June 2026.
