State-Owned Pharmaceutical Firm's Profit Soars 542.43%, Here's Why
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - State-owned pharmaceutical firm PT Phapros Tbk (PEHA) booked a net profit of Rp15.29 billion, soaring 542.43% in the first half of 2026 compared with Rp2.38 billion in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, basic earnings per share jumped significantly to Rp18 from Rp3 previously. The profit performance was supported by net sales of Rp482.85 billion, a significant surplus from Rp458.23 billion in the same period a year earlier.
Cost of goods sold stood at Rp239.35 billion, up from Rp238.46 billion in the same period last year. Gross profit reached Rp243.49 billion, surging from Rp219.76 billion.
President Director of PT Phapros Tbk, Intan Abdams Katoppo, explained that Phapros’s performance growth in the first half of 2026 was supported by higher sales, improved gross profit margins due to a better product portfolio, and operational efficiency in the production process at its plants.
According to her, this strong performance was achieved through the company’s strategy of strengthening sound and sustainable finances, such as more measured cost control, a strategy to improve customer satisfaction, portfolio strengthening, transformation of business systems and processes, and optimisation of human resources and corporate culture.
“Phapros has managed to maintain its financial performance growth trend. We are optimistic that Phapros’s profit performance will continue to grow by more than two digits until the end of 2026. To that end, we are consistently executing the company’s strategy to continue strengthening innovation and profitability so as to provide added value for shareholders and the health of the Indonesian people,” said Intan on Monday (31/8/2026).
On the other hand, operating expenses amounted to Rp200.18 billion, up from Rp180.93 billion. Other income was Rp250 million, skyrocketing from minus Rp3.76 billion. Operating profit reached Rp43.55 billion, surging from Rp35.06 billion. Finance income was Rp1.25 billion, up from Rp340.79 million. Finance costs were Rp22.86 billion, down from Rp24.73 billion.
Total accumulated equity stood at Rp438.23 billion, an increase from Rp427.47 billion at the end of the previous year. Total liabilities were Rp1.01 trillion, up from Rp959.7 billion at the end of 2025. Total assets reached Rp1.45 trillion, a significant jump from Rp1.38 trillion at the end of last year.
