State-Owned Enterprises Required to Order Ships Through PT PAL Indonesia

The Investment Management Agency for Future Prosperity (BPI Danantara) has mandated all state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to procure their shipbuilding and component requirements through PT PAL Indonesia.

The policy has had an immediate positive impact for PT PAL Indonesia, which has received orders to undertake the construction of over 20 ships this year. Unable to handle this independently, the state-owned shipbuilder is exploring cooperation with more than 100 shipbuilding and component companies from the domestic maritime industry.
