State-owned enterprises and the Ministry of Manpower shield workers amid BUMN restructuring
Jakarta — BP BUMN, together with the Ministry of Manpower, is pushing to strengthen synergy through a strategic cooperation plan to ensure the BUMN transformation process proceeds on the principle of ‘no one left behind’ and continues to guarantee that employees’ rights are not reduced. ‘Transformasi BUMN harus tetap mengedepankan perlindungan pegawai dan hubungan industrial yang sehat,’ said Head of BP BUMN and Chief Operating Officer, Danantara Dony Oskaria, in a statement confirmed to ANTARA from Jakarta, on Friday. The synergy between BP BUMN and the Ministry of Manpower is part of efforts to keep BUMN transformations healthy, professional, and sustainable with a focus on protecting all company personnel. The meeting also served as a momentum to strengthen cross-institutional coordination so that the transformation undertaken by BUMN remains in favour of workforce sustainability and industrial-relations stability. In the discussion, each BUMN was encouraged to establish a bipartite Cooperation Body to strengthen communication between management and workers and minimise potential industrial-relations problems within the company. Moreover, strengthening the human-resource competencies of BUMN through professional certification has also been a focus, in line with the needs of increasingly dynamic industrial-relations management. Governance of the transformation will continue to be promoted to operate professionally, inclusively, and sustainably. Through this step, BP BUMN and Danantara emphasise their commitment to ensuring that BUMN transformations not only strengthen company performance but also provide protection and certainty for employees.
