State-Owned Enterprise to Launch Cinema Chain Named Sinewara Next Year

Jakarta - State-owned film production company PT Produksi Film Negara (Persero), or PFN, will establish a cinema chain named Sinewara. This means there will be a state-owned cinema operator alongside the private players that have dominated the market so far, such as PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk. (CNMA), which operates Cinema XXI, and PT Graha Layar Prima Tbk. (BLTZ), which operates CGV Cinemas.

President Director of PT Produksi Film Negara (Persero) Riefian Fajarsyah said the Sinewara cinema is planned to be launched in 2027.

“God willing, next year,” Riefian said, as quoted on Monday (18/8/2026).

The man familiarly known as Ifan said the Sinewara cinema is still under study and still requires a thorough process so that it can become a public entertainment medium.

“Sinewara is still on progress, still being refined. We are maturing it first so that when this product comes out, it is already a mature product and ready to be released. So it is still on process,” he explained.

Ifan added that his party will also encourage several regional governments to support the cinema launch plan.

“God willing, next year. There are already several regencies, some regional heads have already communicated with me,” he said.
