State-Owned Enterprise Shares Lead IHSG Rally, Some Surge 7.88%
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Shares of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) led the strengthening of the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) during trading on Monday (15/6/2026).
Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), state-owned banking shares led the gains, with PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) rising 210 points (5%) to Rp4,410 per share. Meanwhile, shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) surged 120 points (4.21%) to Rp2,970 per share, and PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) climbed 210 points (5.9%) to Rp3,770 per share.
Beyond the Himbara banking group, other BUMN shares also advanced, including PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), which strengthened by 220 points (7.72%) to Rp3,070. Shares of PT Timah Tbk (TINS) jumped 260 points (7.88%), while PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) rose 80 points (2.80%).
The IHSG itself opened sharply higher on Monday, continuing a significant rally recorded the previous week. According to BEI data at 09:10 WIB, the index soared more than 3.5% to a level of 6,221.44. A total of 548 stocks advanced, 82 declined, and 91 remained unchanged. Transaction value reached Rp3.61 trillion, with a trading volume of 5.81 billion shares changing hands 363,000 times.
The surge in the IHSG was driven by a rebound in large-capitalisation blue-chip stocks, particularly in the state-owned banking sector. Meanwhile, shares of conglomerate issuers that had slumped following the MSCI announcement began to recover gradually, rising from their lowest levels since the start of the year.
Positive sentiment for the domestic stock index came from the announcement of a peace agreement between the US and Iran, which agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz, subsequently pulling down global crude oil prices. Additionally, the rupiah’s strong performance against the US dollar, recovering from its all-time low, provided further impetus to the index.
