JAKARTA — The Indonesian government is targeting the completion of a merger of state-owned enterprise (BUMN) logistics companies in the first half of 2026.

Dony Oskaria, Head of the SOE Regulatory Agency, stated that PT Pos Indonesia will serve as the anchor in the consolidation process.

PT Pos will be strengthened through the integration of several BUMN logistics entities. These include Semen Logistik, Pupuk Logistik, Angkasa Pura Logistik, and KAI Logistik.

Dony assessed that consolidation is necessary to create a stronger and more efficient logistics ecosystem.

“Because we have many subsidiary companies operating in the logistics sector, we want to make it more efficient, better, and stronger. The next step is a merger,” Dony said on Tuesday (17 March 2026).

Currently, the process of merging all BUMN logistics sector companies is ongoing. The completion target has been set for the first half of this year.

Dony explained that the consolidation measure is part of broader BUMN optimisation. The objective is to create a more effective and efficient business.

The optimisation follows the government’s completion of a fundamental business review of all companies.

“After conducting a fundamental business review of all companies, the results showed four categories. First, those to be liquidated; second, those to be divested; third, those requiring consolidation; and fourth, those requiring restructuring,” Dony said.

This measure is also aimed at facilitating the flow of logistics distribution. The distribution chain from suppliers to consumers is expected to become more efficient and integrated.
