State-Owned Enterprise Agency Follows Up on PNM Interest Rate Adjustment to 8 Per Cent
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Agency, Dony Oskaria, is following up on the interest rate adjustment for the PNM Mekaar programme to 8 per cent by holding a meeting with the Board of Directors of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, as well as the Directors and Commissioners of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani.
“The strengthening of ultra-micro financing must be able to expand business access for the community while simultaneously encouraging the sustainable economic independence of families,” said Dony, who also serves as the COO of Danantara, in an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday.
The meeting with the leadership of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani was conducted in accordance with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto to ensure that access to financing for underprivileged families and ultra-micro entrepreneurs becomes increasingly affordable and precisely targeted.
The focus of the discussions includes strengthening access to capital for women entrepreneurs in the ultra-micro sector, while maintaining business sustainability, financing quality, and the overall health of the Ultra Micro Holding ecosystem. The programme’s reinforcement is intended to ensure that the benefits of financing are not only felt in the short term but are also capable of creating a lasting economic impact on society.
To date, PNM Mekaar has served over 16.2 million managed customers, all of whom are women entrepreneurs in the ultra-micro sector. The programme is regarded as a strategic instrument in expanding financial inclusion and strengthening women’s economic empowerment across various regions.
During the meeting, Dony Oskaria emphasised the importance of maintaining the sustainability of ultra-micro financing programmes to continue providing tangible benefits to the wider community. The State-Owned Enterprise Agency and Danantara support the strengthening of inclusive and sustainable financing programmes as part of the effort to bolster the people’s economy. Through synergy between State-Owned Enterprises, ultra-micro financing programmes are expected to further increase community business capacity, expand access to productive economics, and create more equitable social and economic impacts throughout Indonesia.
