The Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, reported that state expenditure realisation up to May 2024 reached Rp 1,365.4 trillion. This realisation represents 35.5 per cent of the 2026 State Budget (APBN) target of Rp 3,842.7 trillion. This expenditure growth of 34.4 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year indicates that spending remains on track with national targets.

In detail, state expenditure consists of central government spending amounting to Rp 1,059.3 trillion, or 33.6 per cent of the APBN allocation. Central government spending grew by 52.6 per cent year-on-year. This includes ministry and agency (K/L) spending, which recorded Rp 517.7 trillion, driven by the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, the distribution of social assistance, and the disbursement of holiday allowances (THR).

Meanwhile, non-ministry and non-agency spending reached Rp 541.6 trillion, driven by pension benefit payments, subsidies, and compensation for fuel (BBM) and electricity. Other components include regional transfer funds (TKD), which realised Rp 306.1 trillion, experiencing a contraction of 4.9 per cent compared to the same period last year.
