State Audit Reveals Prabowo's Economic Transformation Bears Fruit with IDR 112 Trillion in Savings

President Prabowo Subianto has asserted that strengthening the national economy relies not only on growth but also on accountable state financial management, food security, and policies that boost public productivity. During the State Address at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) in Jakarta on Friday, 14 August 2026, he revealed that recommendations from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) throughout 2025 resulted in state financial savings of IDR 112 trillion. “The BPK ensures that every rupiah of the people’s money is used correctly and appropriately. He noted that strengthening budget oversight is crucial to ensuring state resources are used effectively for development and public welfare. The President also highlighted the achievement of food self-sufficiency, which was realised in just one year, far ahead of the four-year target. The government eliminated 145 regulations that hindered fertiliser distribution and reduced fertiliser prices, leading to a 252.8 percent increase in profits for PT Pupuk Indonesia amid rising volumes.

Gerindra Party spokesperson Astrio Feligent commented that these achievements should be viewed alongside macroeconomic indicators. Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.29 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, with inflation recorded at 2.88 percent and the unemployment rate at 4.65 percent. “All parties must be objective in assessing what has gone well and what remains lacking. Economic achievements must be appreciated, but this does not negate the homework regarding unemployment and poverty,” Astrio said.
