Starting today, there is a 20 percent discount on train tickets

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta is introducing a 20 percent discount on train tickets for executive class to support public mobility while strengthening family ties.

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated that this promotion applies to bookings and departures during the period from 25 March to 1 April 2026.

“There are a total of 61 train journeys from Gambir and Pasar Senen Stations that receive the discounted fare,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He hopes this programme will provide a more affordable travel alternative for the public during the Eid return flow period.

During the Eid Transport Period from 11 to 25 March 2026, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has transported 706,354 passengers.

Franoto conveyed that remaining seats for the period from 25 March to 1 April 2026 are still available, with details for executive class totalling 144,670 seats, commercial economy class 71,460 seats, and PSO economy 13,124 seats.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operates a total of 92 train journeys, consisting of 68 regular trains, 20 additional trains (13 from Gambir and 7 from Pasar Senen), and 4 Free Motor Trains (Motis).

Several favourite customer trains from Gambir Station include KA Pandalungan, Argo Semeru, Pangandaran, and Cakrabuana.

Meanwhile, from Pasar Senen, KA Bengawan, Kertajaya, Jayakarta, and Serayu are the primary choices.

In addition, KAI is supporting the government’s stimulus programme with a 30 percent discount for commercial economy class trains during the period from 14 to 29 March 2026.
