Starting This Month, Central Lombok Civil Servants Allowed to Work from Home
Central Lombok (ANTARA) - The Regent of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB), Lalu Pathul Bahri, stated that the work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) will soon be implemented in accordance with the central government’s circular. “We will implement WFH for ASN this month,” said Pathul Bahri in Central Lombok on Thursday. He explained that the local government has received a circular from the Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, regulating the performance of ASN duties through a combination of work from office (WFO) and WFH. According to him, the WFH policy does not apply to all ASN. Echelon II officials must still work from the office, while WFH is applied to staff or employees. “For echelon II, they must work from the office. This WFH is for staff or employees,” he said. “For public services, such as at hospitals, they will continue to operate as usual,” he added. Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian previously issued circular Number 800.1.5/3349/SJ regulating the adjustment of ASN official duties in local government environments. “Adjustment of official duties in terms of location with a WFH work pattern for one working day per week, namely every Friday,” said Tito in his statement in Jakarta. The policy aims to encourage the transformation of the regional ASN work culture to be more effective and efficient, while accelerating the acceleration of digital local government services. In addition, the implementation of WFH is also expected to encourage the adoption of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) and the digitalisation of bureaucratic processes. “Matters related to working from office and working from home, including the technical implementation, are directed to encourage digital services,” he said.
