Starting in April 2026, 4,000 Civil Servants Will Be Trained as Reserve Components for 1.5 Months
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A total of 4,000 civil servants (ASN) will undergo training to become Reserve Components (Komcad) for one and a half months.
The Head of the Defence Information Bureau of the Ministry of Defence, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, explained that the training is planned to begin in April 2026.
“So, the first wave will consist of 2,000 people, followed by the second wave of 2,000 people for the next one and a half months,” said Rico in Menteng, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/2/2026).
“Currently, we are in the registration and application phase in accordance with Law Number 23 of 2019 concerning State Defence,” said Rico.
“It is important to note that this is voluntary. There is no element of coercion or obligation,” he added.
The Ministry of Defence will determine the quota of ASN from the 49 ministries that will be sent to the Komcad training.
If Ministry A has 1,000 employees, the quota given could be around 50 people. Meanwhile, Ministry B, which has 500 employees, may only receive a quota of around 10 people.
In addition, a selection process will be carried out during the registration process to ensure that participants are in good health and do not have any physical limitations.
“Regarding gender, whether male or female, it is up to each ministry. Those who register internally will be processed administratively,” said Rico.
Rini stated that becoming a Komcad is part of the government’s participation in defending the country.
“So, Komcad is part of the government’s participation in relation to defending the country. But not all ASN employees can become Komcad,” said Rini when met at the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenpanRB) Office, South Jakarta, Tuesday (24/2/2026).
Only ASN employees who meet the requirements can qualify to participate in the Komcad training.
“So, not everyone can participate; there are requirements. ASN employees who meet the requirements for Komcad are asked to participate in the training,” explained Rini.
