Start of Ramadan: Thousands of Israeli Police Tighten Access to Al-Aqsa

Israeli occupation forces imposed strict restrictions across East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank on the first day of Ramadan 1447 H. In addition to limiting access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, thousands of Israeli police were deployed to tighten security and control entry to the compound.

The measures significantly restricted Palestinian worshippers’ ability to reach the holy site during what is considered the most sacred month in the Islamic calendar.
