Standard Chartered Indonesia is strengthening its corporate financing and debt capital markets business through involvement in a number of strategic transactions in the country. The bank participated in the financing of Danantara and the international bond issuance by the Indonesian government. In the Danantara financing, Standard Chartered acted as joint coordinator, joint senior underwriter, mandated lead arranger, and bookrunner for a revolving credit facility worth up to 10 billion US dollars, available in multiple currencies. Standard Chartered also served as joint lead manager, bookrunner, and rating advisor for Danantara Investment Management’s inaugural dual-tranche bond issuance worth 1.5 billion US dollars in June 2026. In the debt capital markets, Standard Chartered has been a partner to the Indonesian government in international bond issuances since 2009, with total funds raised exceeding 55 billion US dollars. In 2025, the bank again acted as Joint Lead Manager in several of the government’s international bond issuances, including US dollar bonds, global sukuk, CNH Dim Sum bonds, and Australian dollar-denominated Kangaroo bonds. Beyond financing, the bank is also enhancing its transaction banking services and access to international capital markets to support clients’ funding needs. CEO of Standard Chartered Indonesia Donny Donosepoetro said this role is supported by the bank’s understanding of the domestic market and its international network. As a result of this performance, Standard Chartered Indonesia received the Euromoney awards for Best Bank for Large Corporates and Best Investment Bank for Debt Capital Markets. The awards were given based on an assessment of performance, innovation, client impact, and market leadership. According to Donny, the recognition reflects Standard Chartered’s role in supporting the funding, transaction banking, and capital market access needs of the government and public sector, financial institutions, and large corporations in Indonesia. ‘With a deep understanding of the Indonesian market and Standard Chartered’s international capabilities, we will continue to provide relevant solutions for our clients’ needs in Indonesia,’ Donny said in a press release on Saturday (25/7/2026). Head of Coverage, Corporate & Investment Banking at Standard Chartered Indonesia Amit Verma said that large-scale and complex financing needs require access to various funding sources, including international capital markets. ‘This award from Euromoney reflects the trust clients place in Standard Chartered to support their critical and complex financing needs. We will continue to support the government, state-owned enterprises, financial institutions, and large Indonesian companies through financing, transaction banking, and capital market solutions that help them grow, compete, and access broader opportunities.’
