SRT3 Aceh Students Learn Clean and Healthy Living Practices
Students at the Integrated People’s School (SRT) 3 in Aceh Province, located in Aceh Besar Regency, have gained knowledge on clean and healthy living behaviours (PHBS) as part of an effort to raise awareness about personal hygiene and create a clean environment. The activity is also part of supporting the successful development of educational infrastructure, which not only delivers quality buildings but also fosters a culture of responsibly maintaining, caring for, and utilising school facilities, said SRT 3 Aceh Head Seri Amalia in Aceh Besar on Friday. She stated that with the spirit of ‘Build the School, Build the Culture,’ the entire People’s School community can work together to realise a clean, healthy, comfortable, and sustainable school environment as a place for nurturing a superior generation of Indonesians. The concept of the activity, guided by the Aceh Hijau Foundation, used a participatory, enjoyable, and contextual approach, prioritising education so that students not only understand the importance of PHBS but are also able to practise it in their daily lives. The learning process was carried out through a combination of interactive explanations, educational games, demonstrations, and direct practice in groups. The activity was attended by 427 students divided into 13 groups, consisting of two pioneer student groups who have been studying at the People’s School longer, and 11 new student groups. Education for pioneer students was held in the multipurpose hall, while new students participated in activities in nearby classrooms and laboratories. The group division was adjusted according to their respective education levels, with around 30 to 45 students per group. The school hopes that the PHBS activity will establish clean and healthy living habits among the entire People’s School community to optimally improve health standards.
