Srilankan: An Airline with Many Awards

SriLankan Airlines has a route network spanning 30 cities in
20 countries from Europe, through the Middle East and Indian sub
continent to South East Asia and the Far East.
The airlines is party owned by Emirates airlines of the UAE.

SriLankan is an all-Airbus carrier with a fleet comprising two
A302s, four A330s and three A340s. The A330s and A340s offer a
superior in flight product with telephones and 17-channel TVs in
every seat. Business Class additionally offers personal video
players and a choice of 34 videos. Air-to-ground fax and laptop
re-charging facilities are also available. Twenty-two channels to
audio entertainment incorporating a variety of music in different
languages are available in both Economy and Business Classes on
the A330 and A340. Seats are exceptionally comfortable with head
and footrests and lumbar support facilities. In Business Class
these work electronically.

Business Class seats on all aircraft are placed two abreast so
that every passenger gets either a window or aisle seat, which is
a feature in First Class in most international airlines. The
Business Class menu offers a choice of four selections as opposed
to the usual three on most airlines. A choice of 12 types of
Ceylon tea is also available in this class of service.

Skywards, the frequent flyer program that SriLankan partners
with Emirates offers members benefits on both SriLankan and
Emirates and a host of other airlines (British Airways, United
Airlines, Continental, Delta, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines
and South African Airways), financial service, car rental, hotel,
leisure and lifestyle partners. Miles flown on SriLankan,
Emirates or any partner airline and Miles accrued when availing
of the services of Skywards partners will accrue to a member's
benefit offering passengers a wider choice to earn and redeem
Miles. Skywards is designed not just as a miles-for-miles
program, but as a world-class business and travel club for the
airlines' most loyal customers that extends benefits beyond the
immediate travel experience.

SriLankan Airlines is proud to have been voted Best Airlines
of the Year - Central Asia in 2001 as well as in 2002, by UK's
Skytrax Research, which each year conducts the largest passenger
survey in the airline industry. Each survey is conducted over a
period of nine months. In the first instance over 2.7 million
persons worldwide participated, while in the second, over 4.1
million persons worldwide participated. In 2001, this was the
airline's first major accolade since revitalizing its service to
a world-class caliber. The consecutive victory in 2002 affirms
consistency in world-class service and is a seal of approval from
customers of same.

In 2002, SriLankan won the prestigious TTG Asia's award for
Best Airline in South Asia for 2002. Reise and Preise magazine of
Germany voted SriLankan in the top 10 of Best Economy Class
Service in 2001 and in the top five in 2002. Selling Long Haul
magazine voted SriLankan Best Long Haul Carrier to South Asia
this year. SriLankan is fast joining the ranks of Asia's top
airlines.
