Sri Sultan reminds officials to maintain integrity in their duties
Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X has reminded officials to remain steadfast in carrying out their duties and to maintain clarity of self in exercising their authority.
“The inauguration is the beginning of a long responsibility. After that, officials will return to carrying out their duties and using their authority within the organisation,” said Sri Sultan when inaugurating 125 DIY regional government officials at Bangsal Kepatihan Yogyakarta on Friday.
According to Sri Sultan, a position will be tested through various decisions in daily work, including how officials treat their subordinates and respond to policies that affect people’s lives.
“Both meet in the figure of Satriya Pinandhita. Steadfast in conduct, clear in conscience, not placing power as personal property,” he said.
Sri Sultan said the Satriya work culture within the DIY regional government needs to be realised in daily behaviour so that it does not stop as a slogan, but is reflected in the way officials work and make decisions.
According to him, these values need to be applied in the management of human resources (HR) of the state civil apparatus (ASN). Therefore, performance, integrity and track record must form the basis of objective assessment in the implementation of ASN Talent Management.
“ASN Talent Management gains its significance when the performance, integrity and track record of ASN become the basis of objective assessment,” he said.
“Three levels, three roles, one shared mandate: to ensure that authority never forgets for what and for whom it is entrusted,” he said.
The Governor of DIY said the oath of office does not end at the inauguration ceremony. Officials are asked to maintain discipline, reorganise their intention to serve, and prove their position through work results that provide benefits to the community.
“A position is not about how high someone is placed. Ensure that the position you hold brings benefit, through work results that are felt by the community,” he said.
