Sri Sultan HB X Hopes No More TNI Soldiers Will Fall While Carrying Out Peacekeeping Missions
Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Sri Sultan HB X, has conveyed condolences for the TNI soldiers carrying out peacekeeping missions in South Lebanon. One of the soldiers, Praka Farizal Rhomadon, hailed from Kulonprogo, DIY.
He also expressed concern over the incident at the UNIFIL headquarters, which is suspected to have been attacked by Israel.
“I share the concern,” stated Sri Sultan on Tuesday (31/3).
According to him, the consequences in conflict areas are far heavier than in safe areas. He hopes that no more TNI personnel will become victims while serving as peacekeeping forces.
“So the risks are there. But my hope is that this is the last one. No more casualties,” hoped Sri Sultan.
Meanwhile, Commission A of the DIY DPRD visited the family home of the late Praka Farizal and conveyed condolences. Deputy Chairman of Commission A of the DIY DPRD, M Hifni Nasikh, revealed that Commission A extends deep condolences over the death of Farizal Rhomadon in Lebanon.
Chairman of Commission A of the DIY DPRD, Eko Suwanto, stated that Commission A of the DIY DPRD is urging the government to award the National Hero title to Praka Farizal Rhomadon and his two comrades who fell while carrying out the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeping mission in South Lebanon.
“We ask the government, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, to give recognition to the late Mas Farizal along with the two soldiers who died in Lebanon, Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar and Sergeant Major M Nur Ichwan, to be awarded the honour as National Heroes, as heroes of the Indonesian nation,” he explained.
Commission A of the DIY DPRD, he continued, is also urging the DIY Regional Government to provide attention and recognition to the family of the late Praka Farizal, especially his two-year-old son.
He revealed that the DIY DPRD plans to hold a meeting with the DIY Regional Government to provide attention to the bereaved family. They will also continue to monitor the developments regarding the repatriation of the body to the homeland.
