SRC Empowers Thousands of Cirebon MSMEs Through Store Digitalisation
Efforts to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) continue to be a priority for various stakeholders, including the private sector. One such programme focused on MSME development is being implemented through the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC) grocery store network.
According to a press release on Monday (18/05/202<0xA0>6), the programme—part of the ‘Sampoerna for Indonesia’ sustainability initiative by PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP)—focuses on increasing the competitiveness of traditional shops through digitalisation and business mentoring. By implementing digitalisation and integrating services such as ‘Pojok Bayar’, the programme supports the transformation of business management for MSME players.
To date, the company has mentored more than 250,000 grocery stores across Indonesia through the SRC programme. This commitment to MSME empowerment is further strengthened through the Sampoerna Entrepreneurship Training Center (SETC), which has empowered over 108,000 entrepreneurs. Some mentored MSMEs have even successfully exported products and competed in the global market.
MSME empowerment is also carried out through various community activities and the strengthening of networks between business actors. One such example is the ‘Halal Bihalal Paguyuban SRC’ held in several regions across Indonesia. In addition to serving as a gathering for social connection, the event included agendas aimed at increasing the capacity of association members.
The presence of the SRC association in Cirebon has received appreciation from the Cirebon Regency Government. The Vice Regent of Cirebon, Agus Kurniawan Budiman, attended the event and offered congratulations on SRC’s 18th anniversary. He also praised the contribution of the MSME coaching programme, which is considered to have had an impact on local economic development in the region.
“I am very grateful to PT HM Sampoerna Tbk because they care so much about MSMEs in Cirebon Regency. It was mentioned that there are approximately 2,000 MSMEs. This is an extraordinary figure. As stated by SRC, this can become a standard for MSMEs that have levelled up and become modern in Cirebon,” said Agus.
