Sragen Woman Weighing 300 kg Dies After Hospitalisation for Breathing Difficulties
A woman from Sragen, Isnaini (39), who weighed 300 kilograms, has died after receiving treatment at the Soehadi Prijonegoro Regional General Hospital. The resident had been evacuated by a joint team of 12 personnel from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) after complaining of shortness of breath. Rizky Nugroho Jati, a staff member of the PMI Sragen Service and Disaster Management division, stated that the patient had been receiving intensive care at the hospital since the previous afternoon. “We received information at 12:58 WIB that she had passed away. She began treatment yesterday afternoon, and by midday today we received news that she had died,” he said. Rizky explained that the patient’s health condition had shown a decline prior to her death, particularly in her oxygen saturation levels. “Her saturation dropped significantly. Without oxygen, it was low, in the 60s. With the help of a cylinder, it could only rise to 70-73,” he clarified. Given the physical condition of the deceased, who suffered from obesity, the funeral procession will be carried out using a special procedure. He mentioned that the family had contacted PMI to assist with the evacuation and burial process. “The family contacted PMI to help with the burial, so it requires many people. PMI was informed by the family and other colleagues,” he revealed.
