Spreading Deep Fakes and Hoaxes, Ministry of Finance Warns This TikTok Account is Fake!

The Information and Documentation Management Team (PPID) of the Ministry of Finance has discovered a hoax circulating in the name of the General Secretariat. The hoax and false information appear in the form of a fake TikTok account, official.bantuan5, which impersonates the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance. This account uploads information in the form of deep fake videos, false information, or hoaxes. “The public is urged to be wary of fake accounts on social media and the dissemination of false news in the name of the Ministry of Finance,” stated the PPID Team’s post on its Instagram account, quoted on Wednesday (29/4/2026). Previously, the Ministry of Finance also encountered a hoax involving the General Secretariat. Last year, a message circulated on the WhatsApp application from a sender impersonating the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, who was then held by Heru Pambudi. Hoaxes targeting Finance Minister Purbaya and his staff are occurring more frequently. Therefore, the Ministry of Finance advises that if the public finds information about state finances or the Ministry of Finance that is suspected to be a hoax or scam, it can be reported through the Ministry of Finance PRIME Contact Centre via telephone 134, email [email protected], or the “Contact Us” menu on the website www.kemenkeu.go.id.
