SPPG Volunteer in Kuningan Gored While Preventing Wild Boar from Attacking Children
A video showing a resident being gored by a wild boar until he fell in a narrow alley in Kuningan Regency, West Java, has gone viral on social media. In the video, the resident appears to be trying to restrain a large wild boar to prevent it from escaping, but ultimately stumbles due to the animal’s powerful charge.
The man in the video has been identified as Anasikin, also known as Anas (28), a resident of Subang Village, Subang District, Kuningan Regency. Anas, who is a volunteer for the Subang Village nutritional fulfilment service unit (SPPG), confirmed that the figure in the video was himself. The incident occurred on Sunday (3/8) at around 11.30 a.m. Western Indonesia Time.
Anas explained that the incident began while he was at home with his older sibling. Suddenly, his sibling heard a crashing sound, which was initially thought to be a motorcycle accident. Believing a rider needed help, the sibling rushed out of the house. However, upon exiting, it was not an accident but a large wild boar. The sibling then ran and screamed for help. Seeing the boar chasing his sibling and heading towards some children, Anas immediately took the initiative to block the animal’s path.
"Initially, the boar was being hunted in the forest and ran into the village, then crashed into a motorbike, so people thought there had been an accident. Because when it hit the motorbike, there was a voice shouting ‘Ya Allah, help’. My sibling intended to help, fearing the person who fell from the motorbike was badly hurt, but it turned out to be a boar. The boar immediately gave chase. Seeing my sibling being chased by the boar, I immediately blocked it. Because if I hadn’t stopped it, my sibling would have been the victim. There were also children around. The incident happened right in front of the house," Anas recounted on Tuesday (4/8/2026).
However, the boar was ferocious and strong, causing Anas to stumble. He claimed to have held the boar back for 10 to 15 minutes before finally falling. He said that besides stumbling, his foot was bitten by the boar. He was only able to free himself from the animal’s grip after other villagers arrived and helped.
Meanwhile, Sujana, the Head of Economic and Development Affairs for Subang Village, stated that Anas’s condition has now improved. He also confirmed that Anas is one of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) volunteers in Subang Village. "Yes, he is an MBG volunteer. Alhamdulillah, after visiting him earlier, he is just still having difficulty walking because there is a wound on the sole of his foot. He says it hurts a bit when pressure is applied. Fortunately, it did not require stitches," Sujana said.
