A Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) in Jontak Ward, Praya Tengah Subdistrict, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is suspected of operating before its building was completed. This was revealed through a video circulating in a WhatsApp group. The narrative from residents claims the video shows the SPPG, or free nutritious meals kitchen (MBG), operating despite being unfinished. The video was recorded by residents at a house in Jempong Eler, Mertak Tombok Village, Praya Subdistrict, which is suspected to be the temporary operational site. The Chairman of the Budi Sain Mangkling Foundation, Haerudin, denied that his kitchen is unfinished. He stated that the SPPG he leads has been operating since the end of 2025. Due to technical issues at the location, they plan to move to a better and more comfortable site. “That’s not true (the SPPG building is unfinished but operating),” Haerudin said when confirmed by detikBali on Wednesday (8/4/2026). According to Haerudin, the MBG kitchen still has a clear operational location. The activities seen in the video are not kitchen operations but the process of washing ompreng (food containers), which is indeed done at a separate temporary location in Mertak Tombok Village. “The location in the video is a house we rent as a laundry or ompreng washing area before returning them to the kitchen to be dried,” he emphasised. The vehicles seen parked on the roadside, Haerudin said, are operational vehicles waiting for the washing process to finish. He mentioned that the initial MBG kitchen location is in Eyat Surak Neighbourhood, Jontak Ward. However, that location has issues with inadequate wastewater treatment installation (IPAL) facilities. Haerudin revealed that the new kitchen is still under construction. While waiting for the renovation to be completed, ompreng washing is done at another location in the Jempong area, Mertak Tombok Village. “We have been written to regarding the IPAL, and we understand that. Therefore, we submitted a letter to relocate. And BGN already knows,” he explained. As a follow-up, the foundation then rented a new location in Tiwu Buak Neighbourhood, still in Jontak Ward. At that site, construction of the new kitchen continues in stages. “Now we are building a more representative kitchen. The area is about 10 ares with better IPAL facilities, organised parking area, and kitchen equipment that is being completed. The pipes have also arrived,” he said. Haerudin added that this relocation process has been coordinated with relevant parties, including BGN, which stated that relocation is allowed because the previous kitchen conditions did not meet standards. “We have written to BGN regarding the kitchen relocation,” he said. On the other hand, Haerudin also conveyed that this MBG ompreng laundry is not only done by him. He mentioned that the same thing happens in many places outside Lombok, such as Jakarta and Bogor. “Jakarta and Bogor also have many like that. Even people open ompreng laundry businesses there,” he revealed. The foundation assures that MBG kitchen operations continue according to procedure, with a commitment to improve facilities to be more appropriate and meet the set standards. “So there’s no problem, I think, because everything is according to procedure,” he concluded.
