SPPG Head Found Dead in Bandung Mall Car Park, Suspected Suicide
A young man was found dead in the car park of a shopping centre in Bandung, West Java, on Sunday (12/7). Police suspect he took his own life. The victim is believed to have hanged himself from a wall on the 12th floor of the car park. Regol Police Chief Kompol Megawati Triyanti confirmed the incident, stating that officers received a report around 6.30 a.m. WIB from a technician and security personnel at the Kings shopping centre. Police secured several items from the scene, including a mobile phone, sandals, an identity card, and a letter of apology addressed to the victim’s family, friends, and colleagues. According to circulating information, the victim was a head of an SPPG (Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi) unit in Bandung Regency, a fact corroborated by a condolence message posted by the West Java regional SPPI. However, Mega noted that the victim’s identity card listed his status as a student. She confirmed the 26-year-old was a resident of Bandung Regency and that his family has accepted the circumstances of his death. Official statements from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) or its local coordinator have not yet been obtained.
