“The presence of halal certification assures that food and beverages served under the program meet established halal standards,” BPJPH Deputy Mamat Salamet Burhanudin said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said halal certification is an important component of the program because it guarantees the halal status of food and beverages consumed by beneficiaries.

Therefore, BPJPH continues education, outreach, and assistance programs to ensure all SPPGs fulfill halal certification requirements under existing regulations.

“As mandated under Law No. 33 of 2014, all products, including food and beverages distributed in Indonesia, must be halal-certified,” Burhanudin said.

Through outreach programs targeting SPPGs, BPJPH expects more kitchens to understand the importance of halal certification and immediately apply for certification.

“This measure is expected to strengthen program quality while ensuring the public receives nutritious, safe, and halal-assured food,” he said.

According to him, halal certification is not only regulatory compliance but also serves as an instrument for public protection and legal certainty.

“We hope all SPPGs immediately apply for halal certification and consistently maintain halal production processes,” Burhanudin said.
