SPPG Employee in Bogor Successfully Saves for Marriage Thanks to MBG
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A worker at the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) from Bogor, West Java, Muhamad Muhsin (25), claims to have successfully saved for his wedding thanks to the Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG). “Alhamdulillah, it’s been a huge help since MBG started. I can now save up for the wedding,” he said in an official statement from BGN in Jakarta on Monday. “Yes, it used to be like that. I’d wake up late, work irregularly, sometimes not sleeping at all,” he recalled. Now, those habits have changed. Since becoming a volunteer at SPPG, Muhsin has started to know a different rhythm of life, more regular, disciplined, and meaningful. This change has also been felt by his family. Muhsin is now seen as a more responsible figure with a clear direction in life. In fact, in the near future, he will enter a new phase of life: marriage. For Muhsin, this journey is not just a change in routine, but a transformation in his way of life. From previously wandering aimlessly, now he steps with a more certain purpose. In a week, the 25-year-old youth will get married. Behind this happy news lies a not-easy journey, from a life full of uncertainty to finally being able to save for the future. As an ojek driver, his income before was very irregular. In a day, he didn’t always earn. “Back then, it was uncertain. Sometimes there was income, sometimes not. At most, it was enough for myself,” he said. That situation made it hard for him to plan for the future. Saving became nearly impossible. All earnings were spent on daily needs. However, change started to be felt since December 2025, when he decided to join as an SPPG volunteer. Within five months, his life gradually became more stable. Although the income received is not large, there is certainty that he never had before. “If you call it a salary, it’s not big, but it’s blessed. More than enough for me,” he said. From that income, Muhsin started to set aside a little at a time. Until unknowingly, those savings were enough to prepare for his wedding. In the SPPG kitchen, amid activities preparing nutritious food for the community, Muhsin found more than just a job. He found a foundation to organise his life. In a matter of days, he will step into a new phase of building a family with the provisions he has gathered from hard work and an opportunity that came at the right time.
