SPPG Employee Dismissed After WhatsApp Post Criticising Public Ingratitude
An employee of the Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) in Purbalingga was dismissed after posting a WhatsApp status reading “I’m worn out before having to deal with comments from ungrateful common folk”. The post prompted the employee to issue an apology and was subsequently terminated from their position.
According to detikJateng on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, a screenshot of the status was uploaded by Instagram account @infopurbalingga.id, which triggered various reactions from social media users.
After the WhatsApp post caused a stir on social media, the employee issued clarification through a post shared on social media. They apologised for their post.
“Regarding my post which ultimately caused an uproar, I sincerely apologise. I acknowledge and recognise that what I wrote was indeed wrong. The language I used was entirely inappropriate,” according to the screenshot posted on Monday, 16 March 2026.
Mei Sandra, Regional Coordinator of the Purbalingga District SPPG, confirmed the incident. She stated that the post from the SPPG employee was made on Friday, 15 March at approximately 19.30 WIB. The employee was subsequently dismissed.
“It is true that the volunteer is from one of the SPPGs in Purbalingga District, namely SPPG Purbalingga Karangreja Tlahab Lor 1, Samingah Mendidik Indonesia Foundation. The post was made on 15 March at approximately 19.30 WIB,” said Mei when asked for confirmation by detikJateng.
“The follow-up action is that the volunteer has been sanctioned with dismissal from the SPPG and is required to produce a video apologising to the community,” she added.
