SPPG Dompu Responds to Protests over MBG Menu, Claims It Meets AKG

Dompu Regency’s Regional Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) coordinator Putri Rizkika has responded to parental protests over the free nutritious meals (MBG) menu deemed unfit, insisting that the meals distributed meet the Nutritional Adequacy Rate (AKG). ‘For the Monday menu, we have ensured the AKG value is sufficient. The raw materials and other aspects are also in order,’ Putri told detikBali on Thursday (5 March 2026). Putri explained that the nutrition value of each MBG menu is calculated comprehensively for each beneficiary based on age group. With that calculation, the menus distributed are ensured to be suitable and meet nutrition standards. ‘It should be emphasised that what is provided is not bread but pumpkin-yellow brownie, orek tempe as a plant-based protein and dates as a fibre source,’ she asserted. Despite claiming the menus meet nutrition standards, Putri declined to answer questions about the orek tempe menu consumed by primary school pupils in grades 1-3 and about the package price which was deemed cheap and not in line with central government benchmarks. Previously, MBG menus in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), faced protests from several parents. A video showing the contents of the menu went viral on Facebook, drawing public attention. ‘The MBG menu is again problematic. The menus are getting worse,’ Agus Marsudi said in his post seen by detikBali on Tuesday (3 March 2026). In the video, Agus records his child’s school meal. He shows a package containing three dates, one piece of moist cake, and orek tempe.
