Spotlight on Volvo ES90’s Standout Feature, Premium Electric Sedan Priced at Rp 2.1 Billion
Volvo Car Indonesia has officially launched the premium electric sedan Volvo ES90 in the Indonesian market. The model becomes Volvo’s flagship for electrification and marks a further step in the Swedish brand’s expansion of its electric vehicle portfolio in Indonesia’s premium segment. As Volvo’s latest-generation electric sedan, the ES90 adopts a dynamic and modern Scandinavian design. It is built with the latest electrification technology based on an 800-volt architecture, while maintaining Volvo’s safety standards that have been a hallmark of the brand for decades. In terms of performance, the ES90 is equipped with a 92 kWh battery paired with the 800 V electric architecture. This combination enables better energy efficiency while supporting high-speed charging. Charging from 10 percent to 80 percent at a 350 kW DC fast charger is claimed to take around 22 minutes. For the Indonesian market, the ES90 offers 245 kW of power, equivalent to 333 hp, with a maximum torque of 480 Nm. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h can be achieved in 6.6 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 180 km/h. Inside, the ES90 features a minimalist and elegant Scandinavian design. The cabin is spacious, using premium materials to enhance passenger comfort. In the centre of the dashboard sits a 14.5-inch central screen that acts as the hub for the infotainment system. The 9-inch instrument display presents vehicle information clearly. An optional 13.2-inch head-up display projects vital information directly into the driver’s line of sight. The cabin also features multi-zone climate control, an air purification system capable of filtering up to 95 percent of particulate pollution, and an electrochromic panoramic roof that provides natural light and a more comfortable cabin ambience. Cabin pre-conditioning allows the driver to set cabin temperature before starting a journey via the Volvo Cars app. On the technology front, the ES90 is equipped with Google built-in, including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play. Volvo Superset core computing technology also enables over-the-air software updates, so new features can be updated without visiting a workshop. The car also features a digital key allowing users to unlock or lock the vehicle via a smartphone. Additionally, wireless Apple CarPlay integration is available to support iPhone connectivity. As with other Volvo models, safety remains a primary focus for the ES90.
