S'pore's deputy PM visits KL
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien
Loong arrived here yesterday for talks with Malaysian Premier
Mahathir Mohamad and his deputy Anwar Ibrahim, officials said.
Lee was received on arrival at the airport by Anwar, Foreign
Minister Abdullah Badawi and other top officials.
He is accompanied by senior foreign ministry officials on the
three-day official visit, during which he would make a brief
stop-over in Malaysia's northern Penang island resort.
Before heading for Penang today, Lee is to address senior
government officials and academics on "Singapore and Malaysia -
Prospering Together in a Dynamic Region" in Kuala Lumpur.
He returns to Singapore tomorrow.
Singapore is Malaysia's fourth biggest foreign investor with
more than 500 million ringgit (US$200 million) in investments in
1993.
