S'pore tourists up 12%
SINGAPORE (Dow Jones): Tourist arrivals in July rose 12 percent on year to an all-time high of 706,318, with double-digit growth in tourists from Africa, the Americas and Asia, the Singapore Tourism Board said on Wednesday.
The STB said the number of tourists from Australia, China, UK, U.S., South Korea, Hong Kong and India rose to an all-time high.
Arrivals from Indonesia rose 18.4 percent, Japan 13.8 percent and China 11.6 percent, it said.
For the seven months to July, 4.4 million visitors entered Singapore, up 12 percent on year, the STB said.
Tourism spending was also higher. Spending rose 13 percent to S$2.7 billion in the first quarter and 11.3 percent to S$2.7 billion in the second quarter.
