SINGAPORE (DPA): Singapore's government plans to send a trade
delegation to the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, officials said
over the weekend.
The group of 21 businessmen and officials is set to leave
Singapore Monday for the six-day mission, according to a
statement from Singapore's Trade Development Board (TDB).
One of the group's aims is to explore possible joint ventures
in Indonesia's seafood sector. "The fisheries potential of
Indonesia is huge, estimated at 6.7 million tons of marine
produce annually," the statement said.
The group also plans to look for new sources of exportable
commodities and to identify investment opportunities in upstream
or downstream activities, such as processing and packaging, for
primary commodities.
