S'pore, Swiss firms tie up

SINGAPORE (AFP): Media giant Singapore Press Holdings Ltd. on
Friday announced a joint venture between its multimedia unit and
Swiss-based The Fantastic Corp. to offer high-speed broadband
multimedia products in Asia.

SPH Multimedia Pte. Ltd. will take a 40 percent stake in the
joint venture, while Fantastic, which is listed on the Frankfurt
Exchange, will hold the rest, a statement said.

The paid-up capital of the joint venture is US$10 million.

The joint venture's main customers will telecommunications
companies and other broadband infrastructure owners.

The venture will put together broadband content to be carried
on the broadband infrastructure, including interactive television
products and multimedia products for personal computers and
mobile phones.
