S'pore still ahead in W. Cup qualifier
KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore's Mardan Mamat and Lam Chih Bing
combined for an eight-under-par 64 on Saturday retain their lead
heading into the final day of a World Cup championship qualifier.
With a three-day total of 18-under-par 198, the duo held their
one-shot overnight lead over Malaysia's Danny Chia and Iain
Steel, who also carded a 64 in the fourball better ball format.
Mamat, last year's Indian Open winner, was clearly happy with
Singapore's top position. "However, there are 18 holes to go and
we must remain focused," he said.
Twelve teams from Asia, the Pacific and Europe, each
comprising two players, are competing for two slots at November's
24-nation World Cup in Portugal. -- AP
